After going public with their relationship in 2017, Hongkong singer-actress Charlene Choi and her billionaire 'Mahjong Prince' boyfriend Anthony Shi have been the subject of numerous reports claiming that the lovebirds are preparing to take their relationship to the next level.

After all, Charlene was previously reported to have moved in with Anthony last year, and the latter even attended Charlene’s father’s birthday party the same year. However, according to an anonymous source close to the couple, things haven't been so smooth-sailing between Charlene and Anthony recently.

Earlier today, a number of reports claimed that Charlene and Anthony had actually broken up in July. And the reason for their split?

Well, according to those reports, it was ‘cos Anthony did not want to settle down. And that he felt pressured by the public scrutiny and constant speculation about their relationship. Although Charlene tried her best to downplay the marriage rumours, it turned out to be too much for Anthony to bear.

The reports also claimed that Charlene was a little too clingy for Anthony’s tastes, and that the 36-year-old star would tag along whenever he visited nightclubs. That's not all, there are also rumours that the couple had gotten into a huge argument during their trip to the Maldives last December.

The media also dug up proof of Charlene and Anthony’s breakup, noting that Charlene, who used to post workout pics from Anthony’s home gym, has stopped doing so.

However, it appears that the anonymous source might not be so reliable after all. When contacted by the media, Charlene gave a terse statement denying the reports.

“They've received erroneous news, [the information given] were all misses, therefore, I won’t be replying [to the reports],” she said.
