Cyndi Wang Wants Those Who Say She’s Had Plastic Surgery To Buy Front-Row Seats To Her Concerts
What a smart marketing tactic.
For years, Taiwanese singer Cyndi Wang has been plagued with rumours that she’s had plastic surgery. In 2017, the singer was even ridiculed by netizens for having a “nose like Voldemort” after making an appearance on a variety show. Though Cyndi has always vehemently denied going under the knife, the rumours have never stopped. In fact, Google her name, and its ‘Cyndi Wang Plastic Surgery’ that’s the top search.
But it seems the 36-year-old singer has finally had it with those rumours. She recently addressed the issue midway through her concert in China. “If my make-up artist can’t take it anymore, please come up to wipe away my sweat, if not people will say I did my face again,” she fumed, eliciting roars of laughter from her fans. “The next time someone says that about me, you tell them to come watch me in concert and to buy front-row seats!”
She then went on to talk about the most recent time she was accused of going under the knife: “The last time [I was performing], it was right in the middle of the afternoon so it was very hot, and I was sweating like crazy. My face was so wet. Then the reports came out saying that I had a ‘plastic face’. They didn’t even know what was going on, it was clearly perspiration!” Cyndi then gave a massive eyeroll, which was met with cheers and laughter from the crowd.”
Pity then that her outburst has not quelled those rumours. In fact, it has added more fuel to all the plastic surgery talk. One netizen has even posted a three-point argument as to why he thinks she’s lying.
“1. It’s so obvious that she did plastic surgery. She looks so different from how she did in (2006 drama) Smiling Pasta. 2. She doesn’t know in her heart if she has had plastic surgery? She didn’t look like this in (2004 drama) Heaven’s Wedding Gown. 3. Does she think that the audience is stupid? We grew up watching her in idol dramas,” he wrote. Unsurprisingly, the netizen’s post has since gone as viral as Cyndi’s onstage rant.
