On September 20, Donnie Yen's wife Cissy Wang took to her socials to share that her dad, Daniel Wang, had passed away after a two-year battle with cancer.

Her emotional post was also shared by Donnie on his socials shortly after.

Last year, reports had claimed that Papa Wang was suffering from pancreatic cancer but Cissy denied the reports and would only say that while her father was not well at that point in time, he’s “okay now”.
On September 17, Cissy posted a throwback video from a family shoot she had done earlier that year.
A few days before that, she had uploaded another post featuring her dad, sharing that she was reminded of their relationship while watching
Mulan, which Donnie stars in.

Mulan’s love and respect for her father reminds of my relationship with my Papi. I would also do anything for his safety. I’m so blessed to have a remarkable talented, knowledgeable, smart and loving father! He’s always, ALWAYS there for us. Never left our side. Anywhere in the world. His endless support, teachings and love gives me and Donnie so much security that allows our family to grow and strive. Anyone who meets him, loves him!” she wrote.

According to reports, Cissy’s father is a renowned jeweller in Toronto, Canada.

Cissy tied the knot with Donnie in 2003 and they have two kids together: 16-year-old Jasmine Yen and 13-year-old James Yen.
