Ella Chen’s Mum Used To Make The Star & Her Sisters Take Part In Beauty Pageants At Home

Ella Chen is the last member of S.H.E we thought would have experience in beauty pageants. Who else remembers the time when she used to be known as the androgynous member of the Taiwanese girl group?

The 40-year-old recently posted some childhood pics that a) showed her three older sisters posing in swimsuits like professional models, and b) proved that she was always meant to be a queen.

“I was a beauty queen! Who had the same childhood experiences that I had?” wrote Ella.

In the hashtags, Ella added that it was Mama Chen who enjoyed holding such beauty pageants at home, and would provide the outfits and make-up for her four daughters. She was also the one who decided on the winner.

Netizens were very amused by their heavy heavy make-up and matching swimsuits, and her photos also struck a chord with a number of netizens who recalled being put through the same thing as kids.

“My mum made me play dress up with my sisters too. Thing is, I’m a guy! My family still brings out photos of me all dolled up once in a while to have a good laugh over, wrote one netizen.

Some netizens pointed out that these pageants could have helped Ella become the confident woman she is today, adding that the singer should be thanking her mum instead.
