Fan Bingbing Reportedly Stormed Out Of Huading Awards After Getting Snubbed By Organisers

The road back to superstardom has been fraught with difficulties for Chinese actress Fan Bingbing, after she was fined for tax evasion in 2018.

Even though she’s appeared in a couple of events, and is starring in upcoming Hollywood film 365, word is out that she’s still “blacklisted” by the Chinese government.

And the Chinese public aren’t exactly warming up to her just yet. After all, she was Photoshopped out of the poster for an event she was headlining in 2019, just ‘cos the organisers received “tons of complaints” about Bingbing’s involvement in the event.

Recently, Bingbing flew to Macau to attend the 27th Huading Awards. According to reports, Bingbing was originally slated to present the Lifetime Achievement Award during the finale of the ceremony.

The 39-year-old also walked the red carpet for the event in a glamorous black dress, where she was interviewed by the hosts. During the interview, the hosts mentioned that Bingbing was awarded the Best Actress award at this very award ceremony seven years ago, calling Bingbing’s return to the ceremony “special and meaningful”.

However, according to an insider, after Bingbing waited the entire night, she suddenly received notice from the organisers that she wouldn't be going on stage, as someone else would be presenting the award instead. The insider then shared that Bingbing was so miffed, she walked out while the ceremony was still going on.

As Bingbing’s entourage was quite sizeable, the sight of the actress and her team leaving reportedly attracted a lot of attention, with some sharing that Bingbing looked very unhappy.

In a interview after awards, Hongkong actress Rain Lee shared that Bingbing did leave before the end of the ceremony.

“When she left, her entourage went with her, and it created a bit of noise, which was why I noticed [her departure],” the 36-year-old explained.

Rain went on to share that while she did hear that Bingbing was originally scheduled to present an award, she’s “unsure of the subsequent changes that occured”.

She went on to explain that there appeared to be quite a number of “last minute schedule changes”.

“The award I presented was changed as well, it was not the award that I was originally scheduled to present,” she revealed.
