Did you know that the late Alien Huang picked his English name ‘cos he was a huge fan of the Alien movie franchise? That, and he also wished to be a person who can’t be defined and has his own unique way of thinking.

This is why a fan’s recent gift to Alien is so touchingly apt. A few days ago, someone on Instagram shared an official certificate showing that a star — an actual one out there in the universe — has been named after Alien. What’s more, the star is part of the constellation Sagittarius, which was his zodiac sign.

The certificate also includes a personalised message from the fan, which reads, “You were better than this world. We will miss you forever.”

In case you’re wondering, it doesn’t seem like the fan spent a huge fortune on this special honour. According to the star registry website, it costs just US$34 (S$46), US$49 (S$66), or US$89 (S$120) to name a star, depending on the type of star and package. Not that it makes the gift any less valuable, of course.

Meanwhile, Alien’s friends and loved ones decided to commemorate him by getting inked. His Mr. Player co-host Kid Lin showed off the new tattoo on his arm — which he got the night of Alien’s death — at the recent memorial concert, while his younger sister Huang Ting Ting got a smiley face and heart with Alien’s birth and death years behind each ear.

Perhaps the most dramatic new ink belongs to Ting Ting’s husband Sam, who worked with Alien at the latter’s clothing brand AES, or Alien Evolution Studio, for many years. Earlier this month, he posted a picture of the huge photo-realistic tattoo he got of his brother-in-law on his torso, garnering a lot of praise from followers on his Instagram.
