Li Yan, the 14-year-old daughter of Chinese diva Faye Wong, is no stranger to making headlines for her precocious behaviour, and the latest saga has people slamming her (again) for growing up way too fast.

Recently, the teen was found to have to have started a new Instagram account after clearing her old one, presumably ‘cos she had enough of all the hate she was getting there and wanted to start over with a clean virtual slate.

Li Yan used to share about her everyday life on the platform — you know, just like any other user — but was often bombarded with nasty comments from haters, leading her to delete all her posts without warning one day.

Alas, folks immediately found something to complain about as soon as her new page was brought to light. Eagle-eyed netizens noticed that, in her profile picture, Li Yan appears to be showing off a tattoo of a black cat on her shoulder (see below).

This incited some pretty heated discussions on the internet, with many saying that it is completely inappropriate for a girl to be getting inked at the tender age of 14, and that it presents a negative image of herself to others.

Some also said that Li Yan is “too mature” for someone who’s still in her early teens.

However, just like the time she was wrongly suspected of going clubbing at age 13, this turned out to be yet another misunderstanding.

Li Yan herself eventually caught wind of all the gossip surrounding her new tat and took to her new IG to post a clarification in English, which reads: “...ok...its called a tattoo sticker… (sic)” She has since changed her profile picture as well.

Despite Li Yan’s explanation, there were those who simply refused to back down and remarked that Faye “should take good care of her daughter”.

Not too long ago, Li Yan came under fire when she was spotted taking a sip of red wine with her mum.

The poor girl was also accused of dressing like a “bad girl” at a charity bazaar (where she helped raise almost S$4,000, by the way), and has been criticised for flaunting her wealth (remember her infamous designer shopping spree?).
