Hannah Quinlivan Just Launched Her Own Contact Lens Brand, So Why Isn’t Jay Chou Endorsing It?

We see what she did there.

Okay, so most people immediately associate model-actress Hannah Quinlivan with her ultra-famous singer husband, Jay Chou. But the 26-year-old is a star in her own right now, and she's got quite the business mind. After all, she is the girlboss behind fashion brands JENDES and WOOF.

On May 27, Hannah launched her third business venture, Quinlivan, a brand of colour contacts. Though she did lend her name to the brand, Hannah stopped short of calling herself the boss, musing that she’s more of a creative director.

At a press conference celebrating the brand’s launch, Hannah shared more about the reason she created Quinlivan.

“It's hard to achieve a natural coloured effect with coloured lenses,” Hannah said, adding that she decided to start Quinlivan after she could not find a product that met her requirements.

After working closely together with a Japanese team, Quinlivan was born. Right now, the brand offers nine different coloured lenses, with colours and names inspired by nature itself. And they’re pretty affordable too, going for NT$310 (S$14.66) for a box of 10 daily lenses.

Oh and yes, Jay has tried on the brand’s lenses too. While the lenses did not enlarge Jay’s pupils, Hannah said that the resulting effect was not bad , and that even her pink lenses looked good on him.

“I thought that it wouldn’t suit men, but the result was not bad. The coffee coloured lenses had the best effect on his eyes though,” she said.

So… why isn’t Jay endorsing the brand, then? When a journo posed this question to Hannah, she replied: “Him? Jay’s appearance fee will probably be too expensive [for me], but it’s okay”. She later added that Jay has always been supportive of her business ventures, endorsement or not.

And honestly? We think Hannah’s more suited to be the brand’s model anyway. Just look at her gorgeous peepers.
