Huang Xiaoming Says He Lost 12kg 'Cos He Has "Fresh Air" For Breakfast And "Moonlight" For Dinner

Not a real diet.

Much has been said about Chinese actor Huang Xiaoming’s bid to shed off the pounds for his new role in A Cover-Up, from the um… interesting tofu cake he got for his birthday, to his worryingly gaunt appearance and physical condition. And all that was when the actor had only lost 9kg.

Now, three weeks later, the 43-year-old is said to have lost even more weight. A recent report shared that the actor is now 12kg lighter.

1 of 3 He does look kinda gaunt

The actor’s new look has received mixed reactions so far, with some fans worried for Xiaoming’s health.

Most of them, however, were curious about Xiaoming’s diet, wondering if he really achieved his weight loss through fasting alone.

And so, the actor took to his Weibo to share his diet plan.

2 of 3 A diet fit for no one

“A lot of friends have been asking me, what’s my secret to losing weight. This is the menu the workers have prepared for me today,” Xiaoming wrote, uploading a handwritten menu, which honestly doesn’t seem feasible at all.

Here’s what Xiaoming eats in a day, according to the menu: “For breakfast, fresh air. For lunch, pure water. For dinner, gentle moonlight.” You know, basically saying that he doesn't eat anything at all.

3 of 3 He'll be able to eat real food soon

After seeing the extreme diet Xiaoming follows, fans quickly flocked to the comment section to share their thoughts, like this very relatable comment: “I choose to remain fat.”

Others also urged the actor to take care of his health, urging him to “eat all [he] can” once filming wraps.

Later, Xiaoming added this disclaimer: “[This is all because] my role needs me [to lose weight quickly], I don’t eat like this every day. My friends, please don’t follow this! You should eat and drink!”
