You know what they say — the higher they rise, the harder they fall. Once hailed as one of TVB's fastest rising stars, Jacqueline Wong is now known for being a home wrecker, a cheater and a mistress after her affair with Sammi Cheng's husband Andy Hui made headlines last year.

Since then, the 31-year-old has been on an indefinite hiatus from showbiz. Her comeback is also nowhere in sight as it seems like the general public aren't ready to forgive her just yet.

All the negative press that continues to swirl around Jacqueline led reporters to ask TVB exec Virginia Lok if she has thought about casting the disgraced actress in a web drama to test the public’s reaction to her, to which Virginia said that she “hasn’t thought” about it.

“I did think of meeting up with her for a chat, but nobody wants to leave the house these days because of the pandemic,” Virginia explained. “I’ll wait until the situation is less severe [before I consider it again].” She added that they still keep in contact regularly through WhatsApp, although Virginia wants to see her in person before making any concrete plans.

Despite their frequent conversations, Virginia admitted that the topic of the scandal has pretty much been the elephant in the room for them, but maintained that Jacqueline has “always been very positive”. She also said that she was confident that Jacqueline would be able to bounce back.

Virginia said: “I don’t think we should give up on her. Everyone has made mistakes in the past, and you have to look at how serious the mistake was and if there is a way to start afresh. [That being said], we need it to happen at the right time and place.”

As for when TVB will be lifting their supposed 'ban' on the actress, Virginia declined to give an exact time frame. “This is such a difficult question. I have to discuss this with [Jacqueline] and the company first. We also have to consider if allowing her to make a comeback at this point of time will help or harm her.”
