Liu Yifei’s So Thrifty, She’s Been Using The Same Chair For 18 Years

Must be a helluva chair.

She’s luxury brand Louis Vuitton’s brand ambassador and a super popular actress earning millions (she did star in Disney’s live-action Mulan, after all) but as it turns out, Chinese actress Liu Yifei’s quite frugal when it comes to her personal items.

In a recent interview, the 33-year-old revealed that she has a particular chair that she’s been using for… wait for it… the past 18 years. Yep, she’s had that chair since she was 15, and no, it’s not a particularly expensive chair.

1 of 2 That's one hardy chair

According to Yifei, she “can't bear to throw away” the chair, which she brings along whenever she has a shoot. The actress went on to share that her back isn’t exactly in the best condition, and as she often shoots period dramas where she has to wear really weighty headpieces, she needs a chair that has ample back support.

And it just so happens that her chair can do just that. It's also really light and easy to bring around, making it a film set essential for Yifei.

2 of 2 Through thick and thin

After the interview aired, Yifei’s fans began combing through old pictures, and sure enough, there were multiple pictures of the actress lounging in her favourite red chair on-set. The earliest picture appeared to have been taken in 2004, which pretty much supports Yifei’s claim that she’s had the chair for 18 years.

Other fans also shared that Yifei has a winter jacket that she’s been wearing for the past 10 years, praising the actress for being so thrifty.
