There's probably been no bigger celeb scandal in recent memory than Jacqueline Wong's affair with married singer-actor Andy Hui last year.

It also created a lot of trouble for her employers TVB as the broadcaster had to shelve all of the productions featuring the actress because of negative public opinion. They also decided to cut Jacqueline out of Forensic Heroes IV, which had already been filmed by then. Her role was replaced by actress Roxanne Tong and all her scenes in the drama had to be reshot.

The reshoot, which was estimated to have cost the broadcaster over HK$10mil (S$1.73mil), was necessary ‘cos the drama was slated to air in China and Hongkong simultaneously, and well, Chinese authorities definitely did not approve of airing a drama series starring an actress who they had deemed 'immoral'.

11 months later, Forensic Heroes IV finally started airing. As of press time, 12 episodes of the highly-rated show have been broadcasted.

However, netizens have spotted traces of Jacqueline in the drama, despite the costly and time-consuming reshoot.

In one particular scene, the characters played by Jerry Ku and Roxanne can be seen having a discussion in an office. A wide shot, however, uncovered some discrepancies. In that shot, Roxanne’s character was shown wearing high-heeled boots, when she was initially wearing flats.

The scene also only featured individual shots of Roxanne and Jerry, with no shots of them in the same room together.

Netizens then speculated that Jerry was not part of the reshoot and that the production team had added Roxanne into the original scene that was filmed with Jacqueline instead.

When reached for a comment, Forensics’s executive producer Mui Siu Ching admitted that the scene had indeed used a shot of Jacqueline, instead of Roxanne.

“The scene featured four actors, but we only asked Roxanne to reshoot that scene. Jerry was already working on another drama, and [we could not ask him to] change his hairstyle or grow out a beard again. I felt that the reshoot went really well, we overcame a lot of difficulties. There were so many restrictions we had to face during the reshoot, it was even more challenging than coming up with an entirely new drama,” she said.

Siu Ching also revealed that Jacqueline was still included in a number of other scenes as well, and that they had used CGI to superimpose Roxanne’s face on Jacqueline’s body for some shots, laughing that they were “testing everyone’s eyesight” with the CGI.

“I should’ve used CGI to remove the heeled boots,” she added in jest.
