While most artistes have had to cancel their concerts because of COVID-19, one star has managed to rise above the panic — and that's Singaporean singer-songwriter Tanya Chua.

Tanya's Kisses For The World showcase in Taipei will be her fifth time performing at the Taipei Arena, but even with the worsening epidemic, tickets for her concert in May were snapped up within five minutes when they were released last Friday (Feb 14).

“Thank you to all who have worked hard during this period! Despite everyone's worries, we still need to remain calm, united and pray for peace on earth. And because of what is happening now, I can't wait to feel comfort with all of you at my concert. I’m glad that there's music to accompany us and to embrace us. Take care everyone! Wash your hands! See you on May 9! Together, we will give the world's longest kiss,” the 45-year-old wrote on Facebook on Valentine’s Day.

Although Tanya’s concert will be held as scheduled, she revealed that she had to cancel her birthday travel plans to Morocco and Paris over the Chinese New Year period because of the epidemic.

Even though it's her first time not spending her birthday overseas, Tanya believes that one should always be able to adapt to any situation. And in doing so, the singer feels that she is not only protecting herself from the virus, she's also protecting others too. And staying at home during this period has also allowed her to spend more time with her cats, Choupi and Loulou.
