Of all the rumours we’ve read about cinema icon Tony Leung, this has probably got to be one of the strangest.

According to a viral report from the Hongkong media, the actor, in his younger days, would sometimes go to the airport whenever he was bored and catch any available flight overseas. For instance, he would hop on a plane to London, “squat in a plaza feeding pigeons by himself, and then jet back to Hongkong that night without saying a word, as if nothing ever happened”.

You know, almost like taking a spontaneous day trip from Singapore to Batam, JB, or Pulau Ubin, except way more intense (and atas).

Naturally, journos jumped at the opportunity to ask the 58-year-old about this unusual rumour when he attended a recent awards ceremony in China… and he reportedly said it was true.

Well, maybe not directly, but he certainly didn’t seem to deny it. “I used to enjoy running around a lot when I was young,” he said. “I am someone who would suddenly think of doing something, and then go ahead and do it.”

We presume that includes flying to an entirely different continent to hang out with feathered friends on a whim.

Of course, it’s probably best to take that supposed confirmation with a pinch of salt since it’s also been pointed out that the whole “flying to London to feed pigeons” story is just an exaggerated description of Tony’s self-professed carefree nature.

Still, that hasn’t stopped netizens from engaging in heated discussions over it, with many commenting, “Now that’s the life.”

Something the star did admit to more clearly was the fact that he’s a “computer idiot”, and that he only uses a computer for simple tasks such as reading the news or checking his email. Perhaps he should learn a thing or two from his wife Carina Lau, who is super active on social media.

Cheeky fans decided to roast him for his lack of digital literacy and quipped: “You can’t find a job if you don’t know how to use a computer.” Ha!
