William So Said Andy Hui Apologised To Their Group Of Friends For Cheating On Sammi Cheng

Did they forgive him?

In showbiz, there are few squads as tight as Big Four, a group consisting of Hongkong singers and pals William So, Dicky Cheung, Edmond Leung and Asia’s most famous unfaithful hubby Andy Hui.

William recently revealed on a radio program that when Andy’s cheating scandal first made the news, Andy had apologised to the other members of Big Four. “I told him, “You’re crazy! Back in 2002, when I was at the lowest point of my life, you would look for me at 8am every morning to go skateboarding or surfing. That year, our concert didn’t sell well because of me but you didn’t abandon me. So why are you saying such things now?”

In case you're unaware of what William is talking about, in 2002, the singer made headlines when he was caught using drugs in Taipei. The scandal almost destroyed his career — some say that it has not been the same since — but his pals stood by him.

William also added that he has known Andy and Sammi Cheng for 30 years and that he is confident that the couple would be able to weather this storm. He also understands that what had happened would be harder for women to accept but the couple are joined by their faith so he has no doubt they can make it work. William was then asked if he would invite the couple to his concert, to which he said: “If I do and they say yes, would people go to the concert to see me or them?”

The members of Big Four have had their fair share of scandal over the years. Apart from William’s drug bust in 2002 and Andy’s infidelity, last year, Edmond was arrested for drink driving while Dicky was rumoured to have been nabbed for drug offences in China though that turned out to be fake news. But the quartet have remained close through all that negativity.

William is also not the first of the group to stand up for their buddy. Andy and Dicky were both slated to headline a performance on a cruise ship but with mounting pressure from the public and Andy not doing so well emotionally, Dicky decided to carry on with the gig alone so Andy can rest.
