Zhang Ziyi’s 14-Year-Old Stepdaughter Has Blossomed And Can Sing As Well Her Father Wang Feng

When your stepmum is one of the world's most famous Chinese movie stars and your dad is China's rock god, anything you do can make headlines. Just look at Wang Feng and Zhang Ziyi's kid Apple Wang, who recently made the news for chopping off her long hair, a look she debuted in a video posted on her socials yesterday (Aug 22).

Apple had also filmed herself singing in the clip. Her vocals quickly garnered praise from netizens who said that she has inherited her singing talent from her dad Wang Feng.

Apple's biological mum is model Ge Huijie, who was Wang Feng's ex-girlfriend. She gave birth to Apple out of wedlock in 2005 when she was just 18. It's said that Apple is not close to her mum, and in 2016, Huijie made the news when she complained to the media that she was denied permission to see her daughter. She had also accused Zhang Ziyi of making use of Apple to get attention. Wang Feng then retaliated by saying that Ziyi has been a good mother to Apple while Huijie has never been there for their daughter when she needed her most.

Wang Feng tied the knot with Ziyi in 2015 and Ziyi once revealed in an interview that her parents had disapproved of her relationship with Wang Feng because he is twice divorced with two kids. (FYI: Apart from Apple, Wang Feng has another daughter, whose mum is his second wife.) Despite all that, Ziyi stuck by Wang Feng and it's said that she treats Apple like her own daughter. And that didn't change after Ziyi gave birth to her own kid, Xingxing, in 2015.

Apple also calls Ziyi 'mum' and often shares on social media super sweet posts of her with the actress on holiday or doing mother-daughter things together.

Apple is also close to Faye Wong's 13-year-old daughter, budding fashion icon Li Yan. Both girls made the news last year for their extravagant lifestyle. It was reported that they had splurged 100K yuan (S$19.7K) in just two hours of shopping.

After her most recent social media post viral, netizens have started calling Apple “the most beautiful second-generation star”... which is high praise considering the amount of competition she has here, here and here.
