Scoot Will Soon Fly Direct To Tokyo & Relaunch Osaka Flights; Tix From $263 One Way

We’re gradually getting there — to a holiday in Japan, we mean. The country has finally eased some travel restrictions to allow tourists to visit the Land of the Rising Sun, albeit in organised tour groups. Only time will tell if they will allow free and easy leisure travel soon. But even before that happens, it's still good to know travel options to plan ahead.

And if you're a price-conscious traveller, listen up. Scoot has launched ticket sales for non-stop flights to Tokyo and Osaka. The direct flights to Tokyo are a brand-new route (the low-cost carrier previously flew to Tokyo via Taipei and Bangkok) while the Osaka flights mark the resumption of the service from pre-pandemic times.

Flights to and from Tokyo’s Narita Airport will take off from Aug 1, but tickets are already on sale — expect to pay from $263 one way (taxes inclusive). Flights operate daily.

Flights to and from Osaka will resume Sep 1 and will operate daily. Ticket sales have also been launched and prices start from $296.

Both routes are operated on the airline’s Boeing 787 Dreamliners.

Scoot most recently launched direct flights to Jeju in South Korea, and will operate thrice weekly six-hour flights from June 15 to what’s been dubbed the Hawaii of East Asia. Prices for the Singapore-Jeju route start from $300 one-way (taxes included). Flights are operated on Scoot’s Airbus A321neo aircraft.
