Arnold Schwarzenegger Didn't Expect Daughter Katherine Would Marry Chris Pratt

She would be sick and tired of me dragging them to sets, Arnie said of daughter Katherine growing up on his film sets.

Arnold Schwarzenegger was surprised when his daughter decided to marry an actor .

The 73-year-old star — whose daughter Katherine Schwarzenegger married Guardians of the Galaxy actor Chris Pratt in 2019 and have daughter Lya Maria together — admitted she wasn't a fan of being on big action movie sets as a kid.

Appearing on a Zoom Kindergarten Cop reunion for Yahoo! Entertainment this week, Arnie said: I never, ever thought that my daughter is going to marry an actor.

I said to myself, she would be sick and tired of me dragging them to sets, having them watch me blowing up buildings and killing people.

My kids always enjoyed it, but Katherine, she was crying always the first few weeks.

However, Arnie — who also has daughter Christina, 29, and sons Patrick, 27, Christopher, 23, and 23-year-old Joseph Baena — heaped praise on Chris and described him as a fantastic guy .

He added: I'm really happy because he has been a wonderful, wonderful husband to her and such a great son-in-law.

Author Katherine, 31, and Chris, 41, welcomed their daughter into the world in August, and she previously described having a baby as a great bonding experience .

She said: Obviously when you’re able to have that experience with your significant other, it’s such a beautiful experience and a beautiful journey and a great bonding experience as well.

I feel really blessed to be able to have that as part of this journey. To experience that day by day is really incredible.”

Lyla is the first child for Katherine and Chris, although the actor is already father to eight-year-old son Jack, whom he has with his ex-wife Anna Faris.

And Katherine can’t wait for the four-month-old tot to celebrate her first ever Christmas this week.

Katherine told People magazine: Just being able to experience her first Christmas is exciting, of course, and just being together as a family. This is a really unique holiday season, so being safe is the number one priority and, of course, just enjoying Christmas morning for the first time for her is going to be really awesome.”
