We’ve been living in some very strange times for a year now, and it seems like nothing can really shock us anymore, right? Wrong! Some celebrities, as it turns out, have some very strange superstitious routines to ward off bad energy. Here are some of them.

1 of 7 Megan Fox

Megan Fox once revealed that she has a fear of flying. Unfortunately, being a Hollywood star means that she has to constantly jet off to places. To cope with her fear, Megan turns to music - Britney Spears’ music, to be specific. In a 2009 interview with Conan O’Brien, she said: “I know for a fact it's not in my destiny to die listening to a Britney Spears album, so I always put that on when I'm flying because I know it won't crash if I've got Britney on.”

2 of 7 Heidi Klum

Before Heidi Klum was a supermodel, she was just another kid with baby teeth. But unlike every other kid, she couldn’t bear to part with her baby teeth and has been carrying them around in a little bag as a “good luck charm.” In a 1998 interview, the model said: “I carry around a little bag of my teeth. We don't have a tooth fairy (in Germany), so I put them in a little bag. Little ones, big ones. Those were like, wisdom ones. I don't know if it's good luck, it's just a crazy thing that I do.

3 of 7 Lady Gaga

Famous for her over-the-top work and style, Lady Gaga is extremely overprotective of her talent. The singer believes that promiscuity drains her creativity. Confused? Us too. In her 2010 feature in Vanity Fair, Gaga told the publication: “I have this weird thing that if I sleep with someone, they’re going to take my creativity from me. I’m perpetually lonely. I’m lonely when I’m in relationships. It’s my condition as an artist.”

4 of 7 Barack Obama

For Barack Obama, it seems that there’s no such thing as too much luck. Over his eight years as POTUS, he built up quite the collection of good luck charms. During a 2016 interview with Associated Press, he said: “Ever since I started running for office, people have been handing me things when I'd speak to a crowd. Like lucky charms or keepsakes or things that meant something to them. So now I have a habit… I’ll pick out a few things that I just stick in my pocket to remind me of all the people I’ve met along the way and the stories they told me.” That day, he had with him a rosary from Pope Francis, a Buddha figurine that a monk gave him, and a lucky poker chip.

  • 5 of 7 Colin Farrell

In 2011, we learned that Colin Farrell had a lucky belt after it was reported that he had lost the treasured accessory. It was a gift from his father, Eamon Farrell, and it meant so much to the actor that he was apparently offering a £16,000 reward to anyone who found it. A source told The Sun: “Colin has had this lucky leather belt for so long he just can’t bear to get rid of it. The thing is literally coming apart at the seams. The belt has undergone numerous alterations, like having extra holes punched in it and extra leather added since he has gone through so many weight changes.”

  • 6 of 7 James McAvoy

James McAvoy doesn’t mess around when it comes to superstitions, especially those that his grandmother believes in. The actor once said: “On the first of every month I have to say ‘white rabbit’ to the first person I see. My grandmother taught me that it’s good luck to say it.”

  • 7 of 7 Serena Williams

Serena Williams is extremely superstitious when it comes to her career. The tennis pro has to tie her shoelaces in a specific way, brings her shower sandals to the tennis court, wears the same pair of socks for each set in a tournament, and even has to bounce the ball five times before her first serve. — BANG
