Within the party space will be pong games, 90s arcade games and mini golf for entertainment, alongside beverages from HEYTEA and shots bar Chupitos to refuel with.     This talented DJ won DMC at age 15, proceeded to become Kanye’s tour DJ before setting up notable record label Fool’s Gold, which is more than what most of us can say we’ve done. Known for his mastery of turntablism, Alain Macklovitch, or A-Trak, goes from festival and concert stages to our little red dot once again this year, bringing with him fluid transitions of hiphop beats and EDM.

    If you’re looking to eat and do good at the same time, look no further. All proceeds from the dishes cooked up at this year’s Chefs For A Cause will support the education of underprivileged children both locally and in Cambodia. There are over 10 dishes on the menu, specially created by prominent chefs, including crab cake sliders, crème brulee souffle pancakes and chicken bulgogi tacos by the likes of Jimmy Chok, Pang Kok Keong from Sugar Daddy Group, Daniel Sia of The White Rabbit and more.

    This isn’t your average heritage-centric multidisciplinary arts festival. Get up close and personal with the Kampong Glam district through a tour of its murals and street art, or an evening storytelling, or a walking trail promising a feast. In more of an arty mood? Experiment with samples of traditional-sounding music, enjoy the fibre art, mixed-media and multi-sensory visual exhibitions, or kick back for a drama, dance or opera performance. One of the more intriguing activities is the adults-only storytelling workshop guided by cards chosen from a deck, where participants share their immediate feelings and tell their story based on the images shown.     Revel in the pleasant floral scents and luxuriate in an European garden setting filled with various hybrids of roses. To up your ‘gram game, snap your photos at the French-style trelliages or the Rose Oil Distillery replica, or stop by the Flower Field featuring the Juliet tower inspired by the character’s rose reference in the well-known Shakespearean play. Even if you’re not there for the aesthetics, taking in the scents of roses may just help soothe senses and lower stress levels.

The popular funnyman has raked up over 65 million views on Youtube, where he hosts a popular series ‘Shut Up Ya Kunal’ with political figures. With carefully prepared jokes, honest material and casual delivery, his stand-up gig here is probably not a bad idea if you need a night of laughs.

Iranian-American Maz Jobrani has showcased his stand-up skills across the globe, and has performed for the likes of Michelle Obama as well as the King of Jordan. Expect comedy laced with underlying themes from his Iranian and immigrant background.

    New streetwear swag paired with electronic music and a beer in hand on a Saturday night might seem like a dream, till now. Fred Perry’s joined forces with artists like Singapore-based DJ Eden YC for MUSIC WOVEN IN, a series of gigs at White Label Records spotlighting the fashion brand’s newest collections along with music from genres reflected in each collection. Pick up exclusive embroidered patches alluding to the Fred Perry X White Label Records collaboration, which sees different designs available each session. If you’re craving something local, look forward to imbibing some local beer, like Lion Brewery Co.’s Straits Pale Ale and their new Island Lager craft beers from 7pm-9pm.     Think art and social activism are worlds apart? Think again. All 142 artworks here were created in the name of activism, by artists expressing their views of social and political issues in that era. On showcase are performances like ‘They Poach the Rhino, Chop Off His Horn and Make This Drink’ criticising poaching’s effect on nature and painting ‘Dede Eri Supria to provoke thought about poverty amongst industrialisation and economic wealth in society. Craving for more food for thought? There’s also a roundtable talk by the curators, lectures on topics like political art movement and short films featuring themes like domesticity of women.

    You don’t have to be a fan of Alice in Wonderland to enjoy this engaging, immersive and very Insta-worthy multimedia exhibition. The curious, the young and the young at heart will have a field day poring over original production costumes, magic lantern slides, visual sound effects combined with projection mapping and even a physical ‘Lost Map of Wonderland’ to experience interactive content during the exhibition, as well as online after your visit. With so many mediums telling the Alice In Wonderland story on display, make your time here even more magical at the ‘A Hat-trick of Clever Tricks’ workshop which involves math and logic.

    At the Scentscational Orchids display at Gardens by the Bay, you have to heavily rely on your sense of smell to appreciate the exhibits — there are 58 types of orchids with various scents, categorised into delicate floral, sweet floral, spicy floral and intense floral. Cheem. The interactive nature of the display, coupled with the natural beauty of our national flower, makes for a good time for the entire clan, we reckon. Who knew there was so much to make scents of when it comes to orchids?

    Forget about snapping Insta-worthy pix of our monuments and take a moment to appreciate the beauty of our historic landmarks through sketches done by three artists from the silver generation. This exhibition features poignant sketches of 18 national monuments like the Sri Mariamman Temple and Sultan Mosque. It travels through seven locations islandwide, beginning with the Jurong Regional Library (until Jun 29), before moving on to the likes of the Marine Parade Public Library and library@harbourfront.
