Daiso Launches Website That Lets You Know How Crowded Its Outlets Are
Now you know when to go so you don’t have to wait in line.
People were pretty stoked when Daiso reopened its stores on June 19 when Phase 2 kicked in, as you could tell from the snaking queues at various outlets islandwide. Hardcore fans of the $2 mega chain store weren’t deterred by the long lines, but what if you’re a regular shopper who just needs to duck in and out for a couple of necessities, or just wants to avoid crowds?
Previously, you could refer to Daiso’s frequent Insta-updates to find out how crowded its stores were. These were posted as individual Instagrams that you had to tediously scroll through. Now, the $2 mega-chain has launched a webpage that lets you see at a glance what the crowd situation is like at all its 22 Daiso and Threeppy outlets in Singapore, so you can plan your visit better. The information is regularly updated throughout the day.
Similar to its IG updates, there’s crowd data available in two-hour blocks from 10am to 10pm, and human traffic at the outlets are indicated with coloured squares, ranging from green (not crowded) to red (max capacity). When 8Days.sg checked on a Monday afternoon, it seemed that most of the outlets ranged from yellow (some crowds) to orange (crowded). Heads up: the less crowded stores are at 100AM and Changi City Point.
