Candy and desserts that only add colour to your Instagram feed, and not inches to your waist? Yes, please. Manila’s Dessert Museum has made its way to our shores, and this is the popular, kaleidoscopic tourist attraction’s inaugural overseas pop-up. It’s on from Oct 4 to 27 at Plaza Singapura, which is celebrating its 45th anniversary with a whole host of sweet activities, discounts, and giveaways.

1 of 15 Sugar, spice and all things nice

With five fabulous rooms, The Dessert Museum pop-up here is sort of like a taster of The Dessert Museum in the Philippines (it has eight rooms), or the kiddy cousin to the OG dessert Insta heaven, New York’s massive Museum of Ice Cream.

But just because this is canape-sized doesn’t mean it skims on the fun. The interactive, larger-than-life saccharine installations over these five rooms aren’t merely good as backdrops for your Instagrams — the pastel-hued playground has slides, see-saws and more for that great Boomerang too. 8Days.sg got a preview and are happy to report that it’s not just the kiddos who’ll be having a blast — it’s very much kidult-friendly as well.

And if you’ve been piling on the calories with too many prata suppers, here’s some news: the Dessert Museum opens till 2am on Fridays and Saturdays, if you’re in need of a guiltless late-night snack.

2 of 15 Donut Room

This must be what heaven looks like to Homer Simpson. Your journey starts here as you slide into the first room.

3 of 15 It’s raining donuts!

Dodge hanging donuts, take a pic by the cute cart, or just snap an OOTD against a backdrop of donut plushies. Donut hold back.

4 of 15 Candy Cane Room

Next up is the Candy Cane Room where you’ll find yourself in a mini maze of ginormous candy canes.

5 of 15 Cane you handle this?

Grab a pal to go on the candy cane see-saw or take your pick on the Naughty or Nice swing (we know, it’s not even Christmas yet!).

6 of 15 Cake Pop Room

Hello, giant cake pops! Caution: You may begin to get hungry at this point.

7 of 15 I came in like a wrecking pop

Perch yourself on these massive hanging cake pops with the whole gang and pretend you’re in a Miley Cyrus MV. The key word here is pretend, ’cos those cake pops don’t actually swing.

8 of 15 The Häagen-Dazs Room

Welcome to your fourth stop, aka utopia for ice cream fiends.

  • 9 of 15 Ice to meet you

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to lie down on a giant Häagen-Dazs sweet treat, here’s your chance.

  • 10 of 15 The PS 45 Room

That’s no secret code: it stands for the Pretty Sweet 45, also the theme of Plaza Singapura’s mega sweet birthday bash. Take a breather, or an OOTD, on a giant churro bench while you’re here.

  • 11 of 15 PS we love sweets

Dancing among freakishly large cupcakes and raining marshmallows is allowed here.

  • 12 of 15 How to get access to this sweet wonderland

You’ll need to spend $45 in a single receipt at the mall to score a pair of entry tickets. Kids below the age of 3 enter for free. We’re told that the Dessert Museum can accommodate about 60 to 80 people at one time.

  • 13 of 15 The Dessert Carnival

If that’s not enough of a sugar high for you, try your luck at the Dessert Carnival just outside the mall, where you can toss, spin and win giant plushies. Charges apply.

  • 14 of 15 Don’t worry, there’s real food involved too

Fuel up at The Dessert Marketplace next to the mall’s main entrance. Stalls hawk everything from regular bubble tea and White Rabbit flavoured milk tea, to rosti and fried cheese sticks.

  • 15 of 15 Details to know
