Glamping Tents At Jewel Changi Airport Still Available To Book For Picnics, So You Don’t Have To Worry About The Weather
How much do you have to pay to picnic in a glamping tent in air-con comfort?
The Covid-19 outbreak has made us do some things we’d never even imagine doing a year ago. Go to a club for a spin workout? Sure. Book a hotel room to work? Yup. Hop on a stationary airplane to have dinner? Sign us up. Go-karting in an airport? Why not?
And then we have overnight staycations in glamping tents at Singapore’s crown Jewel, which were snapped up quicker than you can say “Wham, glamp, thank you ma’am”.
If you didn’t get one of these coveted glampcation spots, fret not. You can still book one of these Instagrammable tents, not for an overnight stay, but for a glamp-morous picnic at Cloud9 Piazza at the top level of Jewel, backdropped by the HSBC Rain Vortex and some holly jolly Christmas decorations.
There are two Glampicnic sessions per day, each three hours long — from 11.15am to 2.15pm and 3pm to 6pm. Shell out $160 per tent on weekdays and $180 for Fridays to Sundays, public holidays and eves of PH. Each one accommodates up to five guests, so that works out to about $32 per person on weekdays and $36 on weekends if you have four companions you want to huddle up with.
The good news: you don’t have to worry about the weather or mozzies as you have your Insta-worthy picnic under shelter, and in air-con comfort too. The bad news: Food and drinks are not provided in the package.
While there’s a picnic basket ($60 each) with pre-packed snacks, fruits, drinks and card games available as an add-on, you’re also free to tapao food or bring your own homemade grub if you like. Whatever the case, you can still plate up food nicely for food snaps, since cutlery, plates and glasses are provided. There’s also free wi-fi access available throughout Cloud9 Piazza, so you can IG up a storm.
Glampicnic in the clouds at Jewel Changi Airport is happening from now until Jan 3, 2021, at Level 5 Jewel Changi Airport, Cloud9 Piazza. More info at www.changifestivevillage.com.
