You Can Now Go For Horse-Riding Or Horse-Grooming Sessions In Kranji — Get Vacay Vibes Without Leaving Singapore

Time to saddle up.

If you’ve always associated horse-riding with holidays in Australia or Europe, think again. It’s now possible to enjoy a day with horses right in our own backyard.

The Singapore Turf Club Riding Centre (STCRC) has just introduced horse riding jaunts, horse grooming sessions and stable tours from now until Jan 2, 2022 at its sprawling three-hectare facility in Kranji. Yup, all you need to do is to travel up north — no need for all the risk and hassle of planning a VTL trip.

There are a few ways to, er, horse around on the same grounds that the Youth Olympic Games Equestrian Jumping event was held at in 2010, and prices range from $68 to $98 per person. Yes, there are cheaper things to do elsewhere in Singapore, but this could be a decent option, especially if you’re looking for something to do with the kiddos during the
school holidays.

Shell out $68 for just the tour of the stables, where you can get up close to pet and feed the horses at STCRC. There’s also a package deal for the stables tour plus a 15-min horse or pony ride that is going for $98.
You can also book hands-on horse grooming sessions at $88 per person, and walk away a pro at plaiting a horse’s mane and other techniques that keep horses looking and feeling fine. If prices are a little steep for your budget, gather a group of at least four for the same activity and get $50 off for the group booking.

Activities are on until Jan 2, 2022, and pre-booking is a must. Group sizes are limited to five per activity (including an instructor or coach) to comply with the current safe management measures.
