About two months ago, TVB actress Sharon Chan, 42, launched her own YouTube channel where she has a series of interviews with her famous friends called Chi Chat (her name in Cantonese is Chan Man Chi).

The latest episode featured her first male guest, fellow TVB star Lai Lok Yi, and one of the topics they touched on was the most irritating thing they’ve experienced at work.

Lok Yi, 41, shared that what really gets his goat is when co-stars who “don’t know how to act” basically try to be know-it-alls.

“I don’t care when they try to teach me how to act, but then they would take out a book and talk to you about drama theory and tell you how the script should be changed,” he said. “I would tell them, ‘Why don’t you work on yourself first?’”

The father-of-one added that he is “very scared of stupid people” ‘cos “no matter how you talk to them, they won’t understand”.

As for Sharon, she recalled the time she was shooting a drama with another artiste who would “bully” her by only showing up late to set whenever Sharon had a scene, making her end work much later than usual.

Sharon endured this treatment for as long as she could, but one day, she finally had enough and confronted the person.

“I remember she came in acting as if nothing was wrong, and I screamed at her, ‘What time is it now? Everyone is waiting for you! Aren’t you bullying me by only coming late when I have a scene? Hurry up!’”

According to Sharon, the other actress “looked embarrassed”, and the two of them became “enemies” for many years. They eventually buried the hatchet when the latecomer owned up to her mistake.

While Sharon didn’t name any names, she described the other person as a “she” in the subtitles, and netizens and the media have been trying to determine who this troublesome co-star is.

One popular guess is former TVB actress Kate Tsui, 42, who retired from showbiz in 2019 after deciding to pursue a PhD in psychology in Europe (although her plans were thwarted by the pandemic).

Over 10 years ago, there were rumours that Sharon and Kate did not get along while filming 2009 TVB drama The Beauty of the Game.

In one scene, Sharon was instructed by the director to “really slap” Kate, and she reportedly hit Kate so hard that the latter needed to use an ice pack to numb the pain in her mouth.

However, Sharon has since addressed the speculations about the identity of her bully in an interview, saying that it isn’t Kate and asking everyone to just relax and enjoy the show without presuming anything.
