Hongkong actor Shawn Yue, 39, recently raised over HK$121.6mil (S$21.2mil) through an online auction he held in conjunction with famed auction house Christie’s.

The auction was titled 'No Time Like Present', and the 39-year-old actor shared that his items were collected over two decades.

Among the 32 lots offered, included 14 NFTs, six luxury watches, accessories and even a NASA chair.

For those unfamiliar with the term NFT, it stands for non-fungible token, which are unique digital certificates that prove ownership of the art pieces that they are linked to. Whoever owns the NFT is considered the owner of the original piece of work.

Out of the entire collection, a CryptoPunk NFT, which sold for HK$33.85mil (S$5.9mil), fetched the highest price.

The CryptoPunk series, made up of 10,000 unique 24x24, 8-bit-style pixel art avatars, is considered one of the first major NFT projects. It was launched in 2017 and each NFT is reportedly valued at millions. No wonder collectors consider the series as the Rolex of NFTs .
