Anita, the new biopic about iconic Cantopop diva Anita Mui, is about to hit the big screen, and two of its stars, Hongkong actresses Miriam Yeung and Louise Wong, and producer Bill Kong have been travelling around China promoting the film.

During their recent stop in Guangzhou, they were joined by Sing! China’s latest champ Wu Keyue, who was known for singing Cantonese songs — including one of Anita’s hits, ‘Man Zhu Shu Hua’ — during the competition.

While they were on stage, Keyue, 23, gushed about being a long-time fan of Anita’s and showed off her collection of CDs (remember those?).

“Some of these CDs are older than me,” she said. “When I was young, I felt proud to have Anita jie’s albums at home. She is like a guide to me on my journey as a musician.”

As Keyue was happily chatting away about her idol, Miriam took one of the discs and started examining it carefully as if she were a detective inspecting a piece of evidence.

Then, the 47-year-old suddenly had an embarrassed look on her face and turned to Bill to whisper something to him.

As it turns out, Miriam had somehow discovered that Keyue’s Anita CDs were all pirated copies, but Keyue herself seemed to be totally unaware of it (or of what was happening right beside her).

However, instead of pointing it out and embarrassing poor Keyue in front of everyone (which would’ve been a jerk move), Miriam simply winked at the audience as a staff member quickly went on stage to collect the CDs, and continued smiling as if nothing had happened.

The clip went viral online and netizens praised Miriam for being “a master of crisis management”.
