A Night Under The Stars

Darren Lim and son Way hang out with TV presenter Charlyn Lin and her 11-year-old son Caleb on Pulau Ubin. Something tells us Charly will the home accident that left her youngest son Cayvus with a few stitches early this year.

Twisted Strings

Executive-produced by acclaimed filmmaker Hou Hsiao-Hsien, this seven-part Taiwanese supernatural anthology — released in March on HBO — follows a series of bizarre deaths over seven separate stories. The stellar cast include Sylvia Chang, Lee Kang-Sheng, Buffy Chen, and Tracy Chou, as well as our own Aileen Tan and Romeo Tan (they appear in episode 5).

Running Wild with Bear Grylls: The Challenge

The British adventurer is back to teach another group of Hollywood stars a thing or two about surviving the wilderness, starting with Natalie Portman in the slot canyons of Southern Utah.

Santa Evita

Seven-part Argentine limited series — with Selma Hayek as executive producer — about how Eva Perón’s body (Natalia Oreiro) is exploited by rival political factions for their own ends after her death in 1952. Based on Tomás Eloy Martinez’s 1995 historical fiction novel of the same name.

Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin

The fourth spin-off of the Pretty Little Liars series features a new town, new liars, and new secrets. Stars Bailee Madison, Chandler Kinney, Zaria, Maila Pyles, and Maia Reficco. The 10-ep season will kick off with three episodes, followed by double episodes on subsequent Thursdays (Aug 4 and 11), and the final three launching on Aug 18.

Changing Planet

Scientists run a health check on Earth from six locations: the US, Iceland, the Maldives, Brazil, Kenya, and Cambodia. This is Part 1 of an epic project to monitor how flora and fauna evolve in the next seven years. Hopefully, the planet is still livable by 2029. Fingers crossed.

Light & Magic

Directed by Lawrence Kasdan (co-writer of The Empire of Strikes Back and Raiders of the Lost Ark) and produced by Ron Howard, this six-part series about Industrial Light & Magic, the pioneering special effects house started by George Lucas to help him make a little arthouse movie called Star Wars. Do you know without ILM, there’ll be no Pixar and Photoshop?

Big Mouth

Sixteen-part K-drama starring Lee Jong-Suk as an incompetent lawyer (wait, how the hell did he graduate….cheating?) whose live is upended by dark forces after he accepts a murder case. Maybe his wife (Lim Yoona) will get him out of the jam.

Uncoupled

Dramedy series — from Sex and the City and Emily in Paris producer Darren Star — about the trials and tribulations of a gay man (Neil Patrick Harris) starting over when his longtime partner worked out on him. Also stars Tisha Campbell and Marcia Gay Harden.
