Relive the finale where dental student Johnathan narrowly beat car salesman Nares — with his dessert. (Wait, is this MasterChef or Crème de la Crème?) Johnathan is the third consecutive guy to win the title. C’mon, enough with the sausage fest —  isn’t it about time we have a female MasterChef champ? Perhaps it’s time to change things up with another panel of judges? New blood, new dynamic? Just saying.

Black Bird

Taron Edgerton plays a cop’s son serving a 10-year sentence in a minimum-security prison. There, he’s given two options — enter a maximum-security lockup for the criminally insane and procure intel from a suspected serial killer (Richard Jewell’s Paul Walter Hauser), or stay where he is and serve his full sentence with no possibility of parole. Based on a novel by Dennis Lehane (Mystic River), the six-part series also features one of the last performances by Ray Liotta, who died in May.

Incantation

This hit Taiwanese found-footage horror flick is loosely inspired by a true story about a family of cult worshippers. It’s up for nine nominations — including Best Narrative Feature — at this weekend’s Taipei Film Awards.
