Taiwanese Actress He Ruyun, 53, Throws Party To Celebrate Divorce From Her Husband Of 16 Years

Their marriage must have been awful.

Getting a divorce is generally a sad thing, but for Taiwanese actress He Ruyun, 53, it can also be a cause for celebration.

In 2003, she married Zhang Minqi, the CEO of Parkview Hotel Hualien. Their marriage wasn't smooth-sailing and Minqi was often accused of cheating on Ruyun, and that ultimately led to their split.

After Ruyun filed for divorce, the court case went on for more than three years before the split was made official earlier this month.

On Tuesday (Sep 20), Ruyun threw a party to celebrate the end of her marriage, and would go on to share photos from her bash on Facebook.

“No matter how many more years I have in the future, I am determined to live every day blissfully, without wasting a single second!” wrote the actress.

She added that life is “just like a train” and she will send her best wishes for those who “alight”, and for those who get on, she will cherish the “fate that brought them together because it hasn’t come easy".

As for the happy moments and tears that she shed during her marriage, Ruyun said they have all “gone with the wind”, before wishing herself “happy singlehood”.

Netizens have since taken to Ruyun's comments section to congratulate her on her singlehood.

“Welcome to single life. Let us ladies who have returned to singlehood be happy together,” wrote one netizen.

“It’s not a must to have a husband, but it’s important to have friends who know and support you,” said another.
