These Bags & Accessories Are Made From Singapore Airlines Business Class Seats & Life Vests — Here's How To Buy Them

They're repurposed from retired Singapore Airlines aircraft.

Fancy carrying around a piece of a Singapore Airlines (SIA) plane with you? Well, now you can.

SIA has collaborated with a whole host of local-based retailers to upcycle parts of its retired aircraft — including Business Class seats, the skin of the plane and even life jackets into bags and accessories. How cool is that?

These are part of the Designed by Singapore Airlines collection, featuring products made from repurposed aircraft parts and materials. They will be on sale at SIA’s The Upcycling Project pop-up store in Design Orchard Singapore (250 Orchard Road #01-01) from Jul 6 to Aug 18, and online at KrisShop and the brands’ respective websites from various dates (more info below).

Here’s a peek at bags and accessories upcycled from Singapore Airlines’ retired planes that you can buy:

The Carrier Collection comprises four products, made in limited quantities, fashioned out of retired SIA life vests. These will be available for sale online at KrisShop in September.

Aviation tags (from $78 each) made from the skin of three aircrafts from SIA’s retired fleet, including an Airbus 380. Available at Design Orchard Singapore from Jul 6 to Aug 18.

SIA has also joined forces with Charles & Keith to launch a limited edition collection of bags and small leather goods. The products are made out of upcycled from SIA’s Business Class seats, while fabrics from Business Class cushion covers and bedsheets line the bag and wallet, and blankets have found new life as dust bags. Available from Aug 8 online at Charles & Keith and KrisShop.

The SIA x Tocco Toscano four-piece collection includes wristlets and mobile phone bags fashioned out of retired life vests.

Zipper pullers are made from red pull-tabs of life vests, and there’s an option to transform them into crossbody bags by purchasing a seat belt bag strap. Available now at KrisShop.
