Thomas Ong Visits Former On-Screen Mum Xiang Yun On-Set; Ignites Calls For The Retired Actor To Make His Comeback
One can always dream, right?
Will Thomas Ong, 53, who announced his retirement from acting in 2020, make a comeback soon?
Netizens, as well as Mediacorp actress Xiang Yun, 60, sure hope so.
In an Instagram post on June 1, Xiang Yun revealed that Thomas recently paid her a visit while she was filming.
“Happy to see my dreamy son drop by for a visit," she wrote in the caption. Xiang Yun played Thomas’ mum in the 2012 drama, Pillow Talk.

“Apart from me, a lot of viewers miss you too! Quickly return to the stage!” she went on to urge.
Thomas’ last drama was Super Dad in 2020.
At that time, he shared with 8days.sg that he would only return to acting if he “runs out of money” or can’t get someone to sponsor the cost of the charity he runs in Cambodia.
Though it doesn’t seem like Thomas intends to return to acting anytime soon, one can always dream, right?
True to Xiang Yun’s words, many netizens flocked to leave comments on her post encouraging Thomas to stage his acting comeback.

“I really miss Thomas da ge, I hope he’ll return to acting, don’t go into retirement, he still has six Top 10 Most Popular Male Artiste awards to win before he becomes an All-Time Favourite Artiste,” one wrote.
Another simply wrote: “Yes, he's a great actor!”, while yet another netizen wrote that they hoped to be able to see a new project from Thomas soon.
