Trailer Watch: Emo Androids Continue Their War With Humans In Westworld Season 4

Why can’t man and machine just get along?

It looks like there’s going to be a Season 4 of Westworld after all — and it’s dropping on HBO and HBO Go on June 27, the same day as the US.

Let’s face it, after Season 3 — the one with a few episodes filmed in Singapore — ended in 2020, the buzz around the sci-fi series kinda died down. Or is it just me? Look, remember when Westworld was once hyped as the next HBO’s Game of Thrones? But now that the fantasy series has its own prequel, House of the Dragon, I guess Westworld is back to being its own thing.

Hopefully, the latest season of the Emmy-winning series — adapted from a Michael Crichton film by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy — will win back some of the fans. The two-minute teaser — set to Lou Reed’s ‘Perfect Day’— offers a glimpse of the assorted shenanigans emo androids are up to. HBO describes Season 4 as “a dark odyssey about the fate of sentient life on earth.”

The returning cast members include Evan Rachel Wood, Thandiwe Newton, Ed Harris, Jeffrey Wright, Tessa Thompson, Luke Hemsworth, Aaron Paul and Angela Sarfyan. Recent West Side Story Oscar recipient Ariana DeBose has also been added to the call-sheet in a top-secret recurring role.

Westworld Season 4 premieres on HBO (Singtel TV Ch 420, StarHub Ch 601) and HBO Go on June 27, 9am, with subsequent episodes dropping on Mondays. The earlier seasons are available on HBO Go.
