Trailer Watch: Tom Hanks Makes A Wish As Geppetto In Robert Zemeckis' Live-Action Remake Of Pinocchio
Pinocchio arrives on Disney+ on Sept 8, which also happens to be Disney Plus Day.
Disney’s live-action remake of Pinocchio is set to premiere on Disney+ worldwide on Sept 8.
Disney made the announcement Tuesday (May 31). It also released a teaser poster as well as a teaser trailer for the Robert Zemeckis-directed movie, which stars Tom Hanks as Geppetto as well as Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, Cynthia Erivo, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Keegan-Michael Key, Lorraine Bracco, and Luke Evans.
Pinocchio’s launch falls on Disney+ Day, the annual celebration of the streaming service that the company first produced last year. (Actually, Disney+ premiered in the US on Nov 12… then again, what do we know?) On that day, Disney+ will unveil more content from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic. The Disney+ Day announcements will lead into D23 Expo: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in Anaheim, California set for Sept 8-10, which will feature “special experiences for fans and subscribers” along with premieres of new content from said marquee brands.
Before Pinocchio’s arrival, Hanks can be seen pulling the strings of a different kind as Colonel Parker, Elvis Presley’s manager in Elvis, Baz Luhrmann’s highly-anticipated biopic of the rock n' roll legend, in cinemas June 23.
