Well-loved Thai instant noodle brand Mama takes over S’pore restaurant in pop-up event
Dig into luxed up versions of the humble instant mee like Mama Prawn Truffle Noodles till Jan 14.
Popular Thai instant noodle brand Mama is temporarily taking over casual Thai restaurant Hue on Tyrwhitt Road from now till January 14. This marks the brand’s first ever pop-up in Asia.

The restaurant is decked out in a Mama theme for the pop-up: there's a giant cup of noodles at the entrance, noodly backdrops, a noodle-centric photo bench and plushies.
Hue’s chef Liang Jun Hao has created seven dishes for the Mama menu, pimping up an instant noodle base with things like pork belly with crackling, tiger prawns and char-grilled rib-eye.

Dishes include Mama Meatball Lamb ($13) with minced pork, pork balls and Thai herbs; Mama Lup Cheong ($15) with Chinese sausage, smoked garlic sausage, minced pork and egg; Mama Soft Shell Prawn Truffle ($18 with tobiko and Thai bomba seasoning; and the classic Mama Tom Yum ($22): Noodles in creamy tom yum soup with tiger prawns, crispy pork belly and pork meatballs.
There’s also a sure-win lucky draw for those who spend S$60 in a single receipt with a minimum order of at least one dish off the Mama menu, with prizes like T-shirts, keychains, plushies and, yes, good old noodles in a packet.

You also get a pack or cup of noodles if you make a social media post about your pop-up experience and show it to the staff.
While you’re there, though, it’s also worth trying some of Hue’s signature dishes, like the oven-roasted crispy pork belly sauteed with garlic, coriander and chilli; and the Not A Tom Yum soup inspired by the spicy soups in southern Thai cuisine and served with deep-fried omelette.
