Where Did Best Supporting Actor Jeffrey Xu Take Top 10 Winner Felicia Chin To Celebrate Their Star Awards 2022 Triumphs?

Kinda sweet how the two seem to celebrate like a couple of giddy teenagers. Aww.

It was a great night for Jeffrey Xu as he walked away with the title of Best Supporting Actor.

It marked the actor’s first acting win at the Star Awards. (He received the Best Supporting Actor trophy at the Asian Television Awards in 2013.)

Most people were touched to see Jeffrey clinch the win after his performance as a scheming druggie in The Takedown, but 8days.sg thinks it’s safe to say that no one was as moved as Felicia.

Asked if he saw the tears in Feli’s eyes when he was announced the winner, Jeffrey said he couldn’t see her from where he was sitting but managed to catch a glimpse of her while he walked towards the stage. “She looked more nervous than me,” Jeffrey chuckled.

Having basically told the entire Star Awards audience that he planned to take Feli out for fried chicken after the show (which we initially thought was a little upgrade from the fast food they had last year), he later posted an image of a bucket of what looked like McCrispy on his Instagram Stories in the wee hours of Monday morning.

Jeffrey Xu Best Supporting Actor

It's a night of celebration for Jeffrey

8DAYS: You mentioned earlier on stage that you’ll be getting some fried chicken to celebrate with Felicia tonight, where are you guys planning to go?

JEFFREY XU: I don’t know yet, and there isn’t any significance to fried chicken, but we will definitely celebrate somewhere.

Well, since Felicia is looking to take her 10th Most Popular Award home tonight as well (she did!), do you guys have plans for a bigger celebration? Or a more special meal?

Not really. Every year after the Star Awards we will just relax. Because we get quite nervous during this period and after the show is when we can finally let go and return to our normal selves and basically just relax. We will just do some things that make each other happy like eating ice cream and fried chicken.

Earlier on stage you mentioned that you were new to receiving such awards and that you didn’t know that you had such little time for your speech. Is there anyone you’d like to thank whom you left out?

I have a lot of people to thank. I have to thank all the producers and managers at TCA, but I also want to thank my co-star Zhang Zetong, because he really places his trust in me when we’re filming our scenes. (Zetong plays Jeffrey’s younger brother who goes to jail for the latter’s drug-related crimes.)

In the show The Takedown, you portray a villain and gained recognition for it. Do you think playing the bad guy will continue paying off for you?

I don’t mind portraying any character. As an actor, any role is a new challenge and I think it’s important to bring the character to life and the audience will relate to him and acknowledge the performance. I think all the best actors start from smaller roles, like supporting actor and they grow from there. [Getting] Best Actor is my dream and something I want to work towards.
