Another hotel booking platform? Yes, but this one comes with a twist.

If you’re the busy sort who appreciates spontaneity, you may consider booking a hotel room by the hour on booking platform Stayr, which touts itself as a “life-saver for tired individuals who want me-time for just a couple of hours”.

There are over 50 hotels are currently available on the platform, and they run the gamut from five-star hotels (hello, Sofitel Singapore City Centre), Instagrammable boutique hotels (think Hotel Soloha and Hotel Mono), and budget hotels (Hotel 81 and Fragrance Hotels are in the mix too).

KINN Capsule Hotel

Hotel hourly rates start at $7 per hour at IG-worthy KINN Capsule Hotel (above). Fancy a little more space? An hour at boutique hotel Hotel G Singapore will set you back by $24, while Sofitel Singapore City Centre (main photo, left) charges $35.50 per hour. There may be a minimum number of hours that you’re required to book for your daycation, though this varies among the hotels.

Customers can book immediately on a real-time basis, just like they would a private hire ride or food delivery — once the booking has been accepted by the hotel, guests are allowed to check in right away.

Co-working spaces available too

You can also book workspaces on the platform with rates starting from $2.40 per hour. Having meetings on the go and just need a convenient and conducive space to get work done before your next appointment? You may just find something from the over 30 options available all around the island, from the CBD and Buona Vista to far-flung areas such as West Coast and Woodlands.

You have to be at least 18 years old to book a hotel room (a regulatory requirement in Singapore by law, we’re told), but there is no age limit to book workspaces.

Stayr tells 8 Days that the most popular type of booking so far has been hourly hotel bookings. But now that folks are returning to the office or have hybrid work arrangements, more people have been booking workspaces by the hour or the full day, according to the company.
