SINGAPORE — Cirque show Le Noir extended an invitation to Singapore performing arts centre O School to attend a Master Class led by members of the Le Noir cast on March 27. The young dance enthusiasts were able to try their hands at various acrobatic stunts featured in the show under the guidance of five cirque performers.

Gediminas Pavlovicius put students through their paces with moves from his Rolla Bolla act, which features seven cylinders which move independently topped by a board which provides a platform for the artist while Ukranian Rusian Dmytruk — otherwise known as the “Mask Juggler” in Le Noir, had the teens in giggles as they attempted to keep several balls in motion in the air simultaneously. David Matz from the US wowed the crowd on the Cyr wheel — a metal ring that is 1.5 meter in diameter that when manipulated allows you to spin in a variety of dynamic movements and Anne-Marie Godin from Canada and Diego Rodarte Amor from Mexico — the Pas De Deux team — had students exercise their muscles and balance with gymnastic routines.

Le Noir, under creative producer Simon Painter, features twenty cirque performers from around the world, many of them formerly from Cirque du Soleil. The show was originally supposed to be in Singapore until March 29, but has been extended to run until April 7 at the Marina Bay Sands. The show boasts a custom-built circular stage of about 2.5 metres in diameter which offers audiences a spectacular 360 degree view of the performance.
