Anugerah Planet Muzik to return in October

SINGAPORE — Anugerah Planet Muzik 2013 (APM 2013), the awards show that honours the best and the most popular of today’s hottest talents in the region’s Malay music industry is slated to return on Oct 18.

SINGAPORE — Anugerah Planet Muzik 2013 (APM 2013), the awards show that honours the best and the most popular of today’s hottest talents in the region’s Malay music industry is slated to return on Oct 18.

Organised by MediaCorp radio stations Ria 89.7FM and Warna 94.2FM, it will be held at Suntec Singapore, and Singapore viewers can catch the “live” simulcast on MediaCorp’s Suria TV channel and Warna. “We couldn’t be more excited about how APM has turned out for the past 12 years. We’ve seen the local Malay music industry improving and continually growing over the last decade. I hope the local acts will be able to leverage on the latest technology trends and evolve into the digital music market to meet the growing needs in the region,” said Zakiah Halim, Senior Vice President of MediaCorp’s Malay Broadcast Division.

A total of 18 awards will be presented, including Best Male and Female Artistes, Best Group, and a new award category, Best Band.

Fans in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore can vote for their favourite songs and artistes in the fan-driven categories.

Music works released for public consumption from Jan 1, 2012 to Dec 31, 2012 are eligible for submission to compete in the various award categories. Entries can be submitted to APM [at] mediacorp.com.sg by Aug 20.
