SINGAPORE — Madonna is scheduled to arrive in Singapore by private jet at about 9pm tonight (Feb 26), sources said, as controversy continues to swirl around the music superstar’s first concert here.

TODAY understands that the timing of her arrival might change. Sources addded that Madonna is planning to stay at Capella Singapore in Sentosa.

Madonna, who performed in Manila on Wednesday before flying to Singapore, is expected to head to the National Stadium for rehearsals on Saturday evening. Her Rebel Heart concert will be held on Sunday night.

The American singer is arriving at the end of a week of controversy, after the Catholic Church and other religious organisations in Singapore expressed concerns about her concert.

A spokesperson for her Rebel Heart Tour said on Thursday that it was “aware of the cultural sensitivities, and Madonna is excited to share her celebration of art and music with her fans in Singapore”.

The Rebel Heart concert has been rated R18 for its sexual references by the Media Development Authority (Singapore).
