SINGAPORE — Zouk Singapore is the fourth best club in the world, according to the 2017 Top 100 clubs list published by DJ Mag on Thursday (March 30), bettering its previous No 6 position last year.

This new ranking meant Zouk also became the highest ranked club in Asia, overtaking Seoul’s Octagon, which remained in the fifth spot overall.

The legendary Ibiza club, Space, which is closing after 27 years, was the top club worldwide, followed by London’s Fabric and Brazil’s Green Valley. Zouk’s sister club in Kuala Lumpur climbed five positions to place 21st.

In reviewing Zouk Singapore, DJ Mag noted that the new location at Clarke Quay retained the quality of the iconic Jiak Kim Street site, “and while the location and lay-out might be different, the DJs are still of the highest calibre you’d expect from this Far Eastern juggernaut”.

“Zouk Singapore was reborn within its new incarnation in a glorious hail of confetti, and they haven’t looked back since,” the magazine added.

This is the highest ranking that Zouk Singapore has accomplished in the last 11 years on the DJ Mag ranking.

“We are extremely humbled and grateful to all our supporters who casted their vote of confidence in us,” said CEO Andrew Li.

“This win serves as a great catalyst and affirmation that we are progressing in the right direction,” he added. “We are extremely excited for what’s in store for the Zouk brand, not only in Singapore but within the region and beyond.”

Ce La Vi, at Marina Bay Sands, was the only other club from Singapore to make the top 100. It came in at No 80, moving up 10 spots from 2016.
