Best things I’ve had for under S$10

Local comedian and entrepreneur Irene Ang is one busy woman: She recently featured in Jack Neo’s Ah Boys To Men compendium, and filmed and worked on a myriad of other projects, including the upcoming talkshow programme, LOL, which will air on the new media platform Toggle. Rojak (S$2) from Lou Hong Ser Rojak (#02-14)

The rojak is always served freshly toasted with the thick and fragrant peanut sauce by the side. The you tiao and tau pok are also crispy and the rojak sauce is thick and fragrant.

Wan ton mee (S$4) from Dunman Road Char Siew Wan Ton Mee (#02-19)

The noodles are springy and so yummy that you can eat it on its own. The chilli sauce is hot though so for those who can’t take the heat, be careful. I love it because it has the comforting taste of the Wanton mee I ate while growing up.

Frog’s leg porridge (S$8) from Dragon City (#02-30)

The frogs are fresh and the sauce is sweet yet smoky. It’s not as spicy, so kids can have some as well. The porridge is a smooth gruel with ginger and sesame oil flavours. Blend them all together and you have the best frog’s leg porridge in Singapore.
