Flower lippies by Kailijumei are taking the Internet by storm
Beauty junkies listen up: Forget the K-beauty wave. A Chinese cosmetics is taking social media by storm.
These flower jelly lipsticks by China-based makeup brand Kailijumei (between S$33 and S$40 each) are being talked about all over beauty websites and Instagram, and are so popular they sell out almost immediately each time they’re restocked. We can see why: Each see-through stick contains gold flecks and REAL flowers, making it almost too pretty to use.
That’s not all – the lipsticks swipe on in gentle pink shades like Minutemaid and Pink Barbie Power (no strong pigments here) that change colour according to the temperature of your puckers.
As with almost every Chinese product though, a whole bunch of fakes has already been spawned, some for as little as S$5. According to official distributor Kailijumei Cosmetics Seller, “there are a lot of fake Kailijumei at eBay, Ali and Thai stores. I can’t force you to not buy fake but I advise you not to because it could contain harmful ingredients”.
Clever marketing ploy or not (Kailijumei Cosmetics Seller has already garnered almost 15,000 followers on Instagram), you know where we’ll be pre-ordering ours: From the real deal themselves. - THIS STORY FIRST APPEARED ON www.elle.sg
