15 guinea pigs found abandoned in food delivery bags
Someone found 15 guinea pigs in food thermal bags thrown along Sungei Tengah Road.
A guinea pig died after it and 14 others were left abandoned at the side of the road in two thermal food delivery bags, and the case has been reported to the authorities for enforcement action
The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) highlighted the incident in an Instagram post on Monday (March 13)
In response to TODAY's queries, it said that it received a report from a caller on Feb 9 at 3.27pm who spotted something unusual inside the bags at 67 Sungei Tengah Road
The caller had told SPCA: “I went to check the bags because I saw something furry and was shocked to see a guinea pig’s face staring back at me.”
When SPCA’s animal rescue officers arrived at the scene, they found 15 guinea pigs left drenched in the rain that had passed and were struggling in the sweltering heat
