The Ministry of Social and Family Development said that as of Dec 5, 2021, the Covid-19 Recovery Grant had supported about 27,000 people and it had disbursed about S$57 million in total.

The application period for the Covid-19 Recovery Grant has been extended by 12 months to continue to provide support for those financially affected by the pandemic, in view of the uneven economic recovery and fluid public health situation.

Applications for the grant can be made until Dec 31, 2022, the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) said in a media release on Tuesday (Dec 21).

The grant was launched at the start of this year to support lower- to middle-income employees and self-employed persons who continue to be financially affected by the pandemic. It provides financial assistance to people who have lost their jobs, are on involuntary no-pay leave or have had significant income loss for three or more consecutive months.

MSF said that as of Dec 5 this year, the grant had supported about 27,000 people and it had disbursed about S$57 million in total.

Applications for the grant were meant to close on Dec 31 this year.
