Reformative training for delivery rider who crashed PMD into woman at ‘substantial speed’ below housing block

While delivering a food order on his personal mobility device (PMD) in Ang Mo Kio, 20-year-old Muhammad Izz Zainudyn failed to see 60-year-old Oh Lai Imm and crashed into her, leaving her with three fractured ribs and a collapsed lung, among other injuries
Due to her injuries, Ms Oh was hospitalised for 18 days
For causing hurt through a rash act, Izz was sentenced to at least a year of detention in a reformative training centre on Thursday (Nov 24)
He had pleaded guilty in October
Reformative training is a regimented rehabilitation programme for offenders under 21 who commit relatively serious crimes
