Renovation firm director who skipped town for Johor charged with murder of fellow director at Beach Road
A 50-year-old man who skipped town and fled to Malaysia was charged on Friday (Nov 18) with the murder of a 27-year-old woman.
Caleb Joshua Chai Shanmugam, a Singaporean, is accused of murdering his victim, Ang Qi Ying, on Nov 9 at about 7pm in a shop along Beach Road, court documents stated.
Official records show that Chai and Ang were both directors at Smart Click Services, a renovation firm they started in October last year.
The police on Wednesday said that they were first alerted to a case of unnatural death at a shop along Beach Road on Nov 13.
Upon arrival, police officers found the woman's body within the premises of the shop and paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.
