10 best tech companies to work for in Singapore

SINGAPORE — Industry giant Microsoft, and mobile security start up Treebox Solutions are among the best tech companies to work for in the Republic, according to the Singapore Computer Society (SCS).

SINGAPORE — Industry giant Microsoft Singapore, LinkedIn and gaming studio Ubisoft Singapore are among the 10 best tech companies to work for in the Republic, according to the Singapore Computer Society.

These companies have shown “exemplary qualities of robust talent development framework, enviable corporate culture and innovation excellence”, said the society.

They were assessed by an independent panel of judges represented by both public and private sectors in the Information, Communications and Media (ICM) industry. Five key criteria were considered: Innovation, Human Resource Management, Human Resource Development, People Culture, Financial Sustainability.

The awards, given out yesterday (July 8), also picked four winners from among the 10, for “Best Tech Company to Work For”.

They were chosen from three categories, based on the size of the company: Large organisations or multinational companies, mid-sized organisations of 50-200 employees and start-ups or small parties with up to five years or incorporation or less than 50 employees.

The four winners were: Microsoft Singapore and Ubisoft Singapore, JustCommodity Software Solutions, a commodity trading and risk management software solution provider and mobile security start up Treebox Solutions. 

10 best tech companies to work for in Singapore: 

Adventus Singapore

An IT and print equipment vendor, headquartered in Singapore with a regional presence.

CommGate

CommGate deals with IT strategy in the areas of e-commerce, customer relationship management and custom web applications. Customers include Nanyang Technological University, Temasek Life Science Laboratory and EZ Link.

JustCommodity Software Solutions

A commodity trading and risk management software solution provider in Asia, JustCommodity was awarded top mid-sized tech company in here because of its focus on giving employees ample opportunities to develop their knowledge and skill base.

LinkedIn Corporation

Professional networking website LinkedIn opened its Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore in 2011. It was second online networking site to set up shop in Singapore after Facebook did so in 2010.

Microsoft Singapore

The joint winner in the large organisation/MNC category has been involved in strengthening the local tech scene. Last week, Microsoft Singapore rolled out Code of Change, in partnership with the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore, with the aim of getting 1.2 million people to use coding to develop solutions to everyday problems.

Red Hat

American MNC Red Hat is an open source services company with a Singapore satellite office. Its core product is Red Hat Enterprise Linux with a focus on the likes of cloud computing.

Tagit

Mobile banking software solutions provider Tagit designs mobile apps for the likes of DBS, Standard Chartered, UOB, Singapore Airlines and PSA Marine. The mid-sized, Singapore-based company was founded in 2004 and has been ranked among the Technology Fastest 500 in Asia by Deloitte.

TreeBox Solutions

The start-up is a specialist company for mobile security solutions with a focus on developing military-grade mobile security. The top start-up here chosen by the SCS, TreeBox prioritises hiring the right fit and openness and sharing in the work environment.

Ubisoft Singapore

The gaming studio boasts a multicultural team. It set up base in Singapore in 2008 and has contributed to major gaming titles such as the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Nurturing local talents has resulted in a fun, open and creative working environment.
