SINGAPORE — Singapore on Sunday (Sept 20) confirmed 18 new cases of Covid-19, including four imported infections and one in the community.

All the new cases are asymptomatic, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said.

Among the four imported cases, two are work pass or work permit holders currently employed in Singapore who arrived from the Philippines on Sept 8.

Another case is a dependant’s pass holder who arrived from Iran on Sept 15 and the remaining case is a student’s pass holder who arrived from Germany on Sept 9.

All of them had been placed on 14-day stay-home notice upon arrival in Singapore, and were tested while serving their notices at dedicated facilities.

The sole community case is a work permit holder who has no links to previous infections, MOH said.

The remaining 13 cases are foreign workers staying in dormitories.

Of these, five had been identified earlier as contacts of previous cases and had already been quarantined.

The other eight were detected through surveillance testing, such as the fortnightly rostered routine testing.

Meanwhile, MOH also added Zero1 Pte Ltd, a mobile virtual network operator located at Trivex building on 8 Burn Road, to a list of public places that had been visited by Covid-19 cases during their infectious period.

The infectious person or persons had visited Zero1's premises on Sept 13 between 1.05pm and 2.40pm.

Overall, the number of new cases in the community has remained stable at an average of one case per day in the past two weeks, MOH said.

The number of unlinked cases in the community has also remained stable at an average of fewer than one case per day in the past fortnight.

The total number of Covid-19 cases in Singapore now stands at 57,576.

Thirty-nine more patients have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities, bringing the total who have fully recovered to 57,181.

There are 30 confirmed cases who are still in hospital, most of whom are stable or improving, and none is in the intensive care unit.

Another 338 with mild symptoms, or who are clinically well but still test positive for Covid-19, are isolated at community facilities.

Twenty-seven have died from complications due to Covid-19 infection.
