SINGAPORE — Three new roads in Bidadari estate will partially open from next Sunday (Jan 14) – Bidadari Park Drive, Alkaff Crescent and Woodleigh Link.

Bidadari Park Drive is a major road that will serve as the main transportation spine of Bidadari estate, traversing its length from Bartley Road to Upper Serangoon Road, said the Housing and Development Board (HDB).

To regulate the movement of vehicles and pedestrians, there will be three new signalised junctions where Bidadari Park Drive meets Upper Serangoon Road, Upper Aljunied Road and Alkaff Crescent. The HDB advised motorists to drive carefully and said auxiliary police officers will be deployed to guide motorists during the commissioning of the new signalised junctions.

Running alongside Bidadari Park Drive is a 1.6km stretch for community interaction called Bidadari Greenway, which the HDB dubbed a “green spine” that will feature rest spots and commercial and communal facilities. Cycling and footpaths will also run through the greenway, which will connect the housing developments to the 10-hectare Bidadari Park.

The masterplan for Bidadari was launched in August 2013 and since November 2015, the HDB has launched about 6,100 flats in seven public housing projects such as Alkaff Lakeview, Alkaff Oasis and Woodleigh Glen.
